Telegram Ads monthly report and CSV reconciliation
· 2 min read
An ad table and an account’s monthly report answer different questions. The table explains the selected ads; the monthly report includes deleted ads for reconciliation. Adtally provides both in Analysis, alongside CSV exports of tables and raw series.
Why the totals can disagree
An ad can spend money and then be deleted. Its spend may remain in the monthly account report even when the ad is absent from the currently available per-ad statistics. A difference is therefore a reason to inspect coverage, not immediately a sign of a faulty formula.
An unfinished day can also differ from a completed month. Check the account, currency and UTC boundaries before comparing two numbers. Review missing statistics if a request or an interval is incomplete.
Reconcile a calendar month
- Choose the account and the month to reconcile.
- Open monthly reconciliation in Analysis and read the account report.
- Inspect the report’s entries, including deleted ads.
- Compare the same month’s spend with the per-ad sample and explain excluded records.
For example, the available ads total 900 EUR while the monthly report totals 1,000 EUR. If the report shows 100 EUR on deleted ads, that explains the difference. Do not add that 100 EUR to every chart: it belongs to the coverage and dates of the monthly report.
Choose the right CSV
Export a grouped table when you need the current breakdown. Export raw series when you need to inspect intervals or calculate your own time-based report. Exporting does not restore an absent ad or an unknown observation.
Keep the account, currency, selected dates, time zone, grouping and filters with the file. Use stable ad identifiers when joining it with another report; text and links can be shared by several ads. Do not include API tokens in spreadsheets.
Recalculate ratios from the exported counters
In a spreadsheet, sum spend and actions before calculating CPA. Sum clicks and impressions before calculating CTR. Preserve missing values rather than coercing blanks to zero. Keep objectives separate, as explained in the metrics guide.
A saved CSV is a snapshot of that export, not a live report. If you export again later, today’s figures may have changed. To compare snapshots fairly, use equal completed periods and the same ad-table filters.
What reconciliation does not calculate
Monthly spend is not revenue. The service does not calculate ROI, ROAS, taxes or your accounting profit. Use the report to explain advertising spend and its coverage, then bring your own revenue and accounting data into a separate analysis.
